EMILIA PARDO BAZÁN

The tenor Joaquín Pixán, the mezzo-soprano Nuria Lorenzo and the pianist Andrea González pay tribute to the figure of Emilia Pardo Bazán by musicalizing her poetic production of youth with compositions by Juan Durán, Margarita Viso, María Tersa Bretal and Carme Fernández.

A bouquet of newly created concert songs that lead to be moved by the intimate expression of this great figure of Spanish literature. Emilia Pardo Bazán was a loose verse in a patriarchal society: she defended the role of women in society and was not afraid to use the word feminism or to expose herself to criticism, and even scandal, for defending her opinions.

Today, his struggle is still alive and his poetry is still alive with this show that premiered at the Teatro Colón in A Coruña and in Comillas for the Palacio de Festivales de Cantabria.
